Local Data Storage & Preferences

Your favorited rivers, selected craft profiles, and display preferences are stored locally in your web browser (via localStorage). No personal identifiable information (PII) is gathered, sold, or synced to cloud databases.

Geolocation Privacy

When you use the "Find Rivers Near Me" tool, your device coordinates are processed entirely in client-side memory to calculate distance to Canadian hydrometric stations (ECCC / Water Survey of Canada). Your exact GPS position is never saved, uploaded, or logged on any remote server.

External Data Sources

River conditions, river gauge telemetry, and atmospheric weather are retrieved directly from Canadian public open data APIs (Environment and Climate Change Canada MSC GeoMet and Open-Meteo).
